Current Programs
Living Well with Diabetes
A free six-week self-management program for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders who have pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or is a caregiver to a Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander living with type 2 diabetes. Our trained facilitators will help you manage your condition so you can enjoy life!
Program Information
This program is provided free of charge for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders residing in Utah and who are ages 18 and older.
Workshops are held Monday evenings with Dinner and Child Care provided.
What You'll Learn
Techniques to deal with the symptoms of diabetes, fatigue, pain, hyper/hypoglycemia, stress, and emotional problems such as depression, anger, fear and frustration
Appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength and endurance
Healthy eating
Working more effectively with health care providers
Managing medications
Make health menus and how to read nutrition labels.
Provide free diabetes resources and other health resources.
